Stand Up for Dogs Trust

With all the media coverage of dubious fundraising tactics by charities to generate as much income as possible it is good to help promote an event which offers you the chance to raise funds for a charity while enjoying a brilliant night out in the process!

Next Monday night 27th March 2017 at the Glee Club in Birmingham comedy fans can enjoy an evening of laughter while raising funds for homeless hounds. A stellar line up of stand-up comedians will perform and Gary Delaney, who is married to fellow comic Sarah Millican, will be headlining the show. The Solihull-born funnyman, who has appeared on TV’s Mock The Week, will be joined by Birmingham’s Jo Enright, Junior Simpson, Lloyd Griffith and Leo Kearse.

Gary Delaney is already a supporter of Dogs Trust after adopting his dog from the charity. He said: “Our little dog, Commander Tuvok, came from Dogs Trust and is now part of the family. If I can pay them back even a little by doing some daft jokes at a fun gig in Brum then I’m in.” Dogs Trust Kenilworth volunteer, Caroline Taylor of Sparkle Productions (and PAWS customer!), has organised the event after seeing first-hand what a real difference Dogs Trust makes to the lives of the dogs in their care.

Jane Hirons, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Kenilworth said: “We have got an incredible line up of award-winning comedy talent who are all set to put on a show in aid of Dogs Trust. We’re so grateful to Caroline for putting on the event, and of course to the talent who are giving up their time to give us lots of laughs and help raise lots of money.”

The event takes place from 8pm and tickets are £15. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Dogs Trust to help the charity care for the dogs whilst they wait to be adopted.
